Transmed joins the PRISMA platform

Leipzig, June 1st, 2023 - PRISMA European Capacity Platform GmbH is glad to announce the addition of Transmed S.p.A. as a new transmission system operator on our platform. 

The Italian-Algerian Operator Transmed is active in leasing, managing, and marketing the transport capacity of the gas transmission system owned by Transmediterranean Pipeline Company Ltd. (TMPC). The submarine pipeline linksCap Bon's compression station, in Tunisia, to the Italian gas transmission network entry point at Mazara del Vallo, in Sicily. Therefore, together with the Trans Tunisian pipeline upstream, the Transmediterranean pipeline links the Algerian gas fields to Italy, thus playing a crucial role in securing Europe’s energy supply, and in 2022 has carried out a transport service for approximately 23 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

Capacity via Direct FCFS

Transmed will start marketing capacity in late June 2023 via the PRISMA platform. The company will offer capacity via a new Direct FCFS feature, a solution PRISMA developed especially for Transmed and TTPC. For instructions, on how to use the Direct FCFS service, we prepared an article in our PRISMA Knowledgebase. 

The offer will contain multi-year, yearly, quarterly and monthly products, as well as weekly and weekly working days products. 

As this is a bundled capacity offer on both interconnected transmission systems, interested shippers must have an assignment not only with Transmed but also with TTPC.
